      Fred Olsen

      Fred Olsen

A big company with small-company dedication to quality, Fred. Olsen hails from a little Norwegian town where, in 1848, the three Olsen brothers bought their first ships. Now being run by the fifth generation of the Olsen family, this company really know what they're talking about. Not only do they run a cruise line but are also closely involved in shipbuilding and related industries.

You'll find that the staff exude that characteristic Northern European charm and friendliness. They will make the effort to get to know you by name and remember your preferences. Someone will always be on hand to whisk the lady of your party around the dance floor, or mix you up your favourite cocktail; shaken or stirred, whichever you prefer.

Cruising with Fred. Olsen is all about choice. You won't feel under any pressure to dress up for dinner if you fancy something less formal, nor will anyone mind if you spend every day sunbathing by the pool or reading in the well-stocked library.

Cabin accommodation is wide in its variety and single travellers won't have to pay a supplement for their own private space, should they want it. Your cabin will be treated as your home from home but there's always plenty of night life aboard a Fred. Olsen cruise to tempt you out and about. Sample a taste of the West End in a choreographed performance or listen to some live music before taking a stroll around the promenade and watching the moon shine on the ocean

      Balmoral

Suitably regal in its looks and atmosphere, Balmoral is a large liner with plenty of space for up to 1,300 passengers. As you'd guess, the entire ship is designed on a Scottish theme – and you'll certainly feel like you're royalty whilst on board.
